The day before, a large-scale corruption scheme was uncovered in the Russian Guard – according to investigators, high-ranking “officials” in uniform supplied low-quality and faulty weapons at inflated prices. Yesterday, Colonel Sergei Volkov, head of the department of the Naval Directorate of the Russian Guard, was detained in connection with this case, in whose office and house searches were carried out.
The GUSB of the Russian Guard opened a criminal case under the article “abuse of official powers.” According to the investigation, the damage in the case of abuse of power by Volkov amounted to 395.5 million rubles.
